ANY REQUESTS?
I started playing in bars when I was 15 years old. (The world was a bit lax back then
in checking identification.) Over the years, I've played in a number of styles including jazz, country, Broadway, swing,
oldies, rock, and pop.
"Any requests?" has been my mantra all my life. I rarely make a set
list. I usually take my cue from the crowd and play whatever people ask to hear. I don't use any "gear" like
computers or pre-recorded music. I was taught that a musician is supposed to be able to play any song, in any key, at any
moment.
What this means is that every show I do is different. This had led to some strange nights indeed.
I once got requests to play "Slit Skirts" by Pete Townsend and "Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glen Campbell.
Ordinarily, those two tunes don't go together. But, they were scribbled on the same napkin, so I dutifully complied.
This website is about me, but the shows aren't. The shows are all about you, the audience. So whether it's
Tony Bennett, Elvis, Billy Joel, Elton John, Pearl Jam, or John Mayer, I'm there for you.
Provided, of course,
that there is some sort of renumeration in the form of an adult beverage.
Man does not live on requests alone.

The Basics:
Singer - I'm a lead singer, but I've also done backing vocals.
My range is solid baritone, up to an A, sometimes a B when the adrenaline is pumping.
Guitar-
I generally play rhythm, acoustic twelve string. I play a Fender Strat for rock and oldies.
Banjo-
Dixieland and sing-along is what I do. I use a four string, tenor "Mummers" banjo. Piano-
Let's face it, I'm a pop music piano bar player who takes side trips to Broadway.
Percussion-
I use a small kit, snare, cymbals, and tom for swing and dixieland.

AND LATELY?
These
days, I'm playing private parties, concerts in the park, and parades. Now, that we're into warmer weather, I'll
be back in the bars, probably at the Jersey shore.
Check out the main page for my schedule. Hope to see you there!
